David Terrazas will provide exactly what we need in Santa Cruz. As a council member, I will bring experience and fresh, positive energy to City government as it responds to neighborhood and community concerns. I am focused on protecting the qualities that make Santa Cruz such a special place to live and building a strong foundation for the future.

Santa Cruz faces a variety of challenges that require effective and meaningful leadership. As the father of three young children, husband, attorney and neighborhood leader, I care deeply about the future of Santa Cruz and the type of community we shape for our children.

Family is important to me. As a child, I spent summers with my grandparents who immigrated to California from Mexico. They instilled in me at an early age the value of hard work, respect for diverse viewpoints, and a commitment to community. These values have continued to guide my education, professional work, family life, and public service.

Professionally, as a Transportation Manager I have implemented alternative transportation projects and promoted sustainable land use. As a neighbor, I have organized local residents and advocated on their behalf to demand projects that reflect the needs and values of our City.

Through my past work on the City Public Works Commission, Green Energy Subcommittee, City Housing Plan Workshop, and currently as Transportation Commissioner, I have the experience of working with City leaders and community members to resolve complex problems and achieve successful results.
